El Séptimo Cielo ("7th Heaven") es una serie de televisión de drama estadounidense creada y producida por Brenda Hampton, Aaron Spelling y E. Duke Vincent. Fue realizada y transmitida por la cadena CBS Paramount Network Television entre 1996 y 2007. Cuenta con un total de 11 temporadas y 243 episodios.

Sinopsis

La serie narra la vida de la familia Camden, cuyo jefe de familia, Eric Camden, es el ministro de la iglesia protestante del (ficticio) pueblo de Glen Oak, California. La familia Camden está compuesta por Eric Camden, su esposa Annie y sus 7 hijos.

La serie trata sobre temas familiares, pero también topa problemas de la sociedad como el alcoholismo, drogadicción, entre muchas otras; siempre con un mensaje positivo y hace énfasis en los valores familiares tradicionales como base de la vida.

Sobre la Adaptación[]

El título de la serie se adapta como "El Séptimo Cielo", cuando estrictamente hablando el título debería ser "Séptimo Cielo" (7th Heaven).
Los nombres de los personajes se mantienen con su pronunciación en inglés y no son "españolizados" ("Mary" y no "María", "Simon" y no "Simón", "Lucy" y no "Lucía", etc.)
- Con la única excepción del perro "Happy", que sí es traducido en la serie como "Feliz".
- Esto es diferente en el caso de otros doblajes de la serie, como en su doblaje francés ("Sept à la Maison" que se traduciría como "Siete en Casa"), en donde la pronunciación de los nombres de varios personajes sí son "afrancesados" (e inclusive cambian el nombre de Ruthie Camden por el de Rosie Camden).
Durante la canción con los créditos de entrada, Gerardo Reyero con su voz en off de Eric Camden siempre lee los créditos de los personajes principales. Pero luego de la secuencia de entrada, al iniciar el capítulo la voz en off solamente a veces lee los créditos secundarios (de los actores recurrentes, o los presentes solo en ese capítulo en particular) y a veces no los lee. De igual manera a veces dice el nombre del episodio, y a veces no.

Sobre la Traducción[]

En el primer episodio de la serie ("Todo lo que Quieras") hay una escena en todos están comiendo en la mesa, y Simon Camden pide un perro como mascota. Uno de sus argumentos en su original en inglés es "God is Dog spelled backwards" ("Dios es Perro deletreado al revés"). Dado que eso no se cumple en español, sino solo en inglés, esa línea es adaptada en la traducción como "Oye, Dios sabe hacer muchos milagros".
Durante los créditos de entrada varias veces el nombre del episodio es mal traducido:
- El capítulo 15 de la primera temporada, llamado "Happy's Valentine" (El Valentin de Feliz) es traducido erróneamente como "Feliz Día de San Valentín".
- El capítulo 16 de la primera temporada, llamado "Brave New World" es traducido erróneamente como "Un Nuevo Mundo Revolucionado".
- Sin embargo el capítulo 3 de la cuarta temporada, llamado "Yak Sada" (que significa "Una Voz" en idioma pastún, lengua hablada en partes de en Afganistán y Pakistán), en el doblaje sí es traducido como "Una Voz".
En la temporada 3, en los primeros episodios después de que nacen los gemelos David "Dave" y Samuel "Sam" Camden, hay errores en el doblaje, pues en lugar de llamarlos David y Samuel, algunas veces se los menciona como Daniel y Samuel.
En la temporada 3 en el episodio 20 ("Todos los Perros Van al Cielo"), en una escena donde Simon y Lucy están en un elegante restaurante francés, en el original inglés Lucy (Beverley Mitchell) habla una frase en francés con el maître d'. En el doblaje, la voz de Lucy (Cristina Hernández) también habla una frase en francés.
